The bi-objective covering tour problem

چکیده
The paper discusses the definition and solution of a bi-objective routing problem, namely the bi-objective covering tour problem. The bi-objective CTP is a generalization of the covering tour problem, which means that the covering distance and the associated constraints have been replaced by a new objective. We propose a two-phase cooperative strategy that combines a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm with a branch-and-cut algorithm initially designed to solve a single-objective covering tour problem. Experiments were conducted using both randomly generated instances and real data. Optimal Pareto sets were determined using a bi-objective exact method based on an constraint approach with a branch-and-cut algorithm. 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Mathematical Model for Bi-objective Maximal Hub Covering Problem with Periodic Variations of Parameters
The problem of maximal hub covering as a challenging problem in operation research. Transportation programming seeks to find an optimal location of a set of hubs to reach maximum flow in a network. Since the main structure's parameters of the problem such as origin-destination flows, costs and travel time, change periodically in the real world applications, new issues arise in handling it. In t...
متن کاملTwo new heuristic algorithms for Covering Tour Problem
Covering Tour Problem (CTP) is the generalized form of Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), which has found different applications in the designing of distribution networks, disaster relief, and transportation routing. The purpose of this problem is to determine the Hamiltoniancyclewiththe lowest costusinga subset of all the nodes, such that the other nodes would be in a distance shorter than the ...
متن کاملA modified NSGA-II solution for a new multi-objective hub maximal covering problem under uncertain shipments
Hubs are centers for collection, rearrangement, and redistribution of commodities in transportation networks. In this paper, non-linear multi-objective formulations for single and multiple allocation hub maximal covering problems as well as the linearized versions are proposed. The formulations substantially mitigate complexity of the existing models due to the fewer number of constraints and v...
متن کاملBi-objective Optimization of a Multi-product multi-period Fuzzy Possibilistic Capacitated Hub Covering Problem: NSGA-II and NRGA Solutions
The hub location problem is employed for many real applications, including delivery, airline and telecommunication systems and so on. This work investigates on hierarchical hub network in which a three-level network is developed. The central hubs are considered at the first level, at the second level, hubs are assumed which are allocated to central hubs and the remaining nodes are at the third ...
متن کاملCovering Salesman Problem with Nodes and Segments
In the Covering Salesman Problem (CSP), a distribution of nodes is provided, and the objective is to identify the shortest-length tour of a subset of all given nodes such that each node is not on the tour which is within a radius r of any node on the tour. In this paper, we define a new covering problem called the CSP with Nodes and Segments (CSPNS). The main difference between the CSP and the ...
